husbands large stomach

my husband had a massive heart attack 8 months ago and had a lot of fluid in his abdomen, which was drawn off in hospital. He is now on many diuretics, but his stomach is still expanding and when he eats, however little , he feels very uncomfortable and bloated. He is now waiting for an amdomen ultrasound. Does this sound like IBS?

Well sorry but I think a full investigation of the fluid accumulation probably should have been done as soon as it was safe after the heart attack tests up to and including a liver biopsy.... an ultrasound only after a possible reaccumulation is to use your phrase sqad .... a poor show....

Don't let's worry Mrs Murphey please, or cast any doubt on her hubbies treatment. That is not what she asked for!

I understand that Lottie but at least she now has some idea as to what the doctors might start looking at...and if it is a liver problem causing fluid to accumulate there are much better drugs than normal diuretics to control it as well as other treatments and interventions that can make Mr Murpheys life a whole lot better

Mmmmm perhaps Rowan but your last post criticising his previous treatment as a 'poor show' is not on. We don't know all the facts.
