I need pirate costume ideas for a girl for next Friday - I've got the boys sorted but I am stuck on a girl's costume (can only think of things along the lines of a wench!). Thanks

I've dressed up as a pirate before. I wore these brown kitten nheeled shoes with a goldy/bronzy buckle. Fishnet tights. A black and red stripey skirt. A grey and white stripey top with sleeves to my elbows. Ontop of that was a cream waistcoat. Plus I had a bandana in my hair.
No eyepatch, Molly? Or a stuffed parrot on your shoulder?
just dress her as you would a boy pirate but use a pink bandana
try the party shop behind mcdonalds in town, you're bound to find something in there. :-) even if you don't find the costume in there, you'll find ideas for the costume and maybe get little bits for it.
Just don't let the girls go dressed up as boy george!
Ofcourse wear an eyepatch if you have one or can make one.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. While you're on a roll, just found a party invite in her school bag with the theme of 'ocean'. Any ideas? Thanks.
so she has to go dressed as something to do with the ocean?

Think so - will check though. Brill idea Mcfluff - bit beyond me though. Have also got an angel to do but I've got that sorted (should add that I can't sew!)

Hi zzxxee - great minds think alike (have just spent £11.50 on a mermaid costume), just the 3 pirates, 1 angel and 1 traveller to go!
a traveller ??
For a pirate picnic we dressed our two year old daughter in a black tutu (formally part of a witches costume) red and white stripe tights and top and an eyepatch. We also stitched a toy bird onto the shoulder of her top.
> a traveller ??

Presumably (if we're still allowed to use the term) a gypsy.
Chuck, lol ;o)

It's not that sort of traveller (I don't think so anyway) - it's a nativity play traveller (who is going to be dressed in a costume very similar to last year's shepherd). The whole of Key Stage 1 and Reception are all in the same 'play' so it must be diffcult to think of things for them all to be (could be worse - some kids are camels!).
What about Tinkerbell.....Peter Pan was all to do with Pirates. Otherwise dress her the same as the boys and she can be Anne Bonny.
