Syrup of Figs
A mathematician once told me to work it out with a pencil on the back of an envelope.

stewed rhubarb or some prunes can be quite moving
lactulose, available at the chemist.
PS further to gen2..a mathematician told me that he worked it out in logs.....but I think that was going too far.

old fashioned - drink loads of water. Go to the kitchen now and drink a pint of it.

a chicken and mushroom pie from the hot cabinet in your local chippy should do it
Do you know what might be causing it? Might help to find a solution.

Are you taking anything with codeine in it? That can cause constipation. Don't stop any medication without proper medical advice though if you think anything like that is responsible.

Black coffee (very strong) or a cigarette if you smoke (if you don't, don't even consider trying the cigarette bit, wish I had never!). Very sweet sugary things can help...think lactulose.

A LOT of fresh orange juice. I decided I needed a vitamin C kick a few weeks ago and had drunk a full carton to myself before the side effects kicked in!

I tried a vindaloo once, the only effect that had was that I had to sit with my tongue in a glass of water :)

water can be a cure too, and as most people ahve ready access to water at 8:30 on a sat night, it seems the best to me:)
There is a constipation cure (medicine) called movicol, which works on the exact principle of adding water to the stools - its on prescription and you mox it with a glass of water. It works not by doing anything else but making the water not absorbed by the body/peed out, but by making sure it's added to the poo. Interestingly, i was once told it was discovered as a chemocal when they used it on the mary rose, to make sure it didn't dry out!
Pears, luco. I know that if I eat a fresh pear, I have to poo an hour later (remember this, my friends).
My mum always recommends a visit to the library - not very nice for me since I work there...
Increase your fibre intake and avoid dehydration. Short term take Fibogel.
Weetabix and two evening primrose capsules before you go to bed at night ,Porridge in the morning, drink water and go for a walk. Try this for a few nights it always works for me Good luck
