little girl in my street has the unfortunate name of papaya (true !)
can you beat that for unusual names ?

In the school where Mr Funny works there's loads of kids with 'funny names'.

The worst thing is on registering their kids, the parent is asked how do you spell that and parents often say, I don't know, you should know or they try to spell the name 2 or 3 times saying that don't look right!!!!

It used to be the law in France that only names of saints or national heroes were permitted. Don't know if that is still the case.

no offence toi anyone bearing the following, my friends daughter is a Victoria and she is mid 20s, all of a sudden she is..Vikki
and Nikki?
Lucie?
then we have the Chav ones such as Chardonay and Harley...ha-ha

I know a young girl called Edith!

That is an old fashioned name to me! She gets called Edie tho.

We had someone at work with the surname Shittu. Funnily enough it was her first name she was more bothered about.

My ex was quite into unusual names hence we have daughters Sha'ori and Rivkka but she's since remarried a German and now also has Elisaveta, Kalina,Tilmann and Diete. Our friend's little girl is Zinnaida so quite a few unusual names floating about around here but again her father's name in Dragomir ( he's Serbian).
I don't really mind unusual names as long as people don't call their kids 'Bus shelter' or ' Verucca'.
