Hi

Would eating ice cubes make me pee more? I don't think that my fluid intake has increased but my visits to the bathroom are much more frequent.

I visit the little (I wish I was little) girls room during the night too, but I never sleep for more than about an hour/hour and a half at a time. I don't know if the urge to pee would actually waken me.

Ice cubes - I love cold drinks and rarely drink hot drinks. I like them so cold that they hurt your throat. Not too sure where the idea to eat ice cubes came from but I am enjoying them.

I love ice cold water and ice like you Susan,makes me pee more and don't forget,we all pee more in cold weather.

I agree with Chinadog. The cold does make you pee more.

Thanks ladies - I had the idea that cold made you pee more running around in my head. But my mum used to come out with some weird 'old wife's' medical rubbish.

I think that I will go and hide under the duvet and do my sudoku book.

Merlin is useless - she gets under the duvet and then runs down the bed and out the other end.

Frankie is hiding from me as he knows that he has still to get his inhaler.

Have you had a test for diabetes, because that is one of the symptoms.

chrissa - I am diabetic and have been for a few years.

I think that it is the ice.

Tiggs and Bluey used to sleep down the end of my bed and keep my feet warm. Sadly they're not allowed upstairs anymore :o(

Thanks starbuck - peeing is not a problem that I have had in relation to my diabetes.

Tigger - the kitties were there first, can you not rehome the baby?

I take lithium which works on my kidneys - but I have been on it for 14 years with no problem.

I am off to bed now - if only to annoy the cats. Thanks everybody.

Well I've tried rehoming the baby but Battersea Dogs & Cats home won't take him for rehoming. Think they have standards to keep.

Got the same problem sleepwise. I'm OK during the day and normally but lying down just brings it on - I assume something iscausing pressure on the bladder.

Anyway I've had tests, including the camera up me, and nothing is obviously wrong, so I'm still at a loss until I visit my doctor. I did get some medication from the urologist which helped, but that was only temporary as I could not be on medication when taking tests.

Dunno if it's a man thing only but saw palmetto and zinc tablets from the health shop have helped a bit.

sometimes when theyre running a bit high you find youre wanting to tinkle more often.

Cold weather can make you pee more frequent, because we tend not to sweat as much as in the warm, but have a check up just in case
