My Splits Are Bent

I need the help of a fellow gymnast for this question. I've been doing gymnastics for 10 years and the one thing that always bothers me is my splits. They are flat yet my hip is twisted and doesn't touch the floor like it's suppost to. No matter how much my coach trys to straighten it it just doesn't stay forwad. The wierd thing is though, I can pull my leg up over my head when i stnad at it isn't bent. I'm always getting marks off about it in compitions and i hate it. I'm a prefectionist and i need some helpfull tipsthat might make my hip not be so wonky?
