Not been on line for a bit; had flu and was confined to bed with various potions..do not know if they do any good..any way developed ear ache which culminated in perforated eardrum which has now become infected. Climbing the wall with the pain, got antibiotics and swallowing copious amounts of ibruprofen etc, does not touch it though. Oh woe is me. ! Anyone know how long this take to suside and heal ?

Hi Sqad ! Hoped you would be out there ! The flu symptoms are now subsiding it is the ear thing.. never had a perforation before.. will this take a while to heal and will it have any lasting legacy on my hearing ? Can't hear in it at all at the moment, presumably the infection will go soon with amoxicillan, have taken 4 so far, only got 5 days worth !

No it shouldnt have any lasting legacy on your hearing.

Ear infection should settle down within a week, that is the pain and discharge, but if the ear canal is blocked you may need to have it sucked out or syringed at a later time.
