I saw the funniest thing last week when I went to the post office to pick up a parcel. The guy behind the counter could only hold my parcel at arms lengths using only the tips of his finger. The reason - he's scared of polystyrene. Have you any irrational fears or do you know anyone with any? I know my friend is scared of peaches.

I'm scared of falling off things. And I get really nervous going down certain types of staircases.
Someone I work with, who like me has to cash up tills every day, has a terrible aversion to loose coins! She has to use a tray on the coin weighing machine to weigh the money as she can't stand handling the coins and has managed all these years to bag up the denominations using this tray! She is totally unable to empty the charity tin (inhouse charity) and I have to do it, very odd.

do you mean those open metal type? I won;t even use them, and spiral metal staircases are death traps in my eyes!
Wide ones...Ones that have the treads but not the rise (really hate those)...the one at Birmingham airport that is made from glass (double hate that one)...spiral...

I shall have a think xxx
Metal ones...lol

glass coffee tables anything like that
or no knickers!
Fluff - check your emails :-))
the guy is probably not 'scared' of polystyrene, but he probably has sensitivity issues with the touch of it. I have the same issue with polystyrene, of course its much more hilarious to assume he is fearful of it..

I went out for a meal on boxing day and decided to go for a cheese board instead of having something sweet so it comes with 4 crackers, a bit of blue, cheddar, brie and what looks like 2 triangles of edam….so I go for that first…it’s soft, almost spreadable….i did wonder at the time how thet got it so soft so piled the whole triangle on the cracker…then moaned to my friend that the crackers were a little too salty for my liking…she took one look at the cheeseboard and said to me that it's not a cheese triangle I'm spreading on the cracker but butter! Now when I think of butter I want to positively be sick…if you can beat my ‘less intelligent moment’ then please do?
Those very steep spiral metal fire escapes with the narrow treads....yeah! very dodgy.
A friend of mine also can't touch cotton wool PinkLady ! It does sound funny but it is serious to the person who really doesnt like something, me - well I hate handling newspapers and tissues of any sort...wont allow a newspaper in my house, cannot bear to touch a newspaper or a serviette in a food place.....weird or what...not sure why though. To me both these items seem dirty to me and unclean, if for any reason I have had to touch a tissue or newspaper, I cannot touch anything else until i have washed my hands...I feel unclean otherwise.
When someone puts wood in their mouth. That really makes me cringe....
