How can you get nail varnish off a leather sofa

We have managed to get some dark nail varnish on our dark brown leather sofa. Any ideas how we can remove it please. Trield a dab of nail varnish remover but it hasnt shifted it.
Hopefully someone can help!

Pinkilady - It wont pick off as it is very thin. Any other ideas ..... please!

hammerite thinners on a cotton bud so you dont touch the leather...but takes ages or try scraping gently with a fairly hot (bluntish) knife or warming it with a hair dryer then trying the nail varnish remover again

cotton buds and non-acetone nail polish remover and lots of patience
