Hi Sqad

Wonder if you can advise?

As I mentioned previously hubby has been diagnosed with PRP. His limbs and feet were very swollen so Consultant gave him water tablets which have been helping a bit. Arms have gone down and one leg and foot have slightly reduced.

I am really concerned at the moment because all of a sudden his right leg has swollen more and is a real brick red colour. He is in real pain. Painkillers prescribed are tramadol and he has just taken one which has helped a little.

Doctors is closed this afternoon and his Consultant is away until Monday.

Could it be DVT? Obviously he is not moving about hardly at all and I am really worried.

Should I wait and see if leg goes down or call ambulance?

chickadee....sudden onset of a painful, red, swollen leg in a patient who is immobile would certainly suggest .....suggest......a DVT.

No immediate panic, but he does need to be assessed.

Can you get him to A&E?....if so, then do.

thanks sqad. unfortunately because he is immobile I can't get him to A & E and as much as I don't want to I am going to call an ambulance out.
