not sure what to do with myself....from my recent posting about sudden dizziness I have now had a constant headache for over 2 days...feel totally fatigued really poorly now....the pain is constant, could not get into see doc tonight so doc phones me and prescribes me stemetil and codeine (as ibuprofen and paracetamol were not touching the head pain)...have had 1 stemetil and 2 codeine in the last 4 hours....the pain is still there, i am soooo tired, but cannot sleep as the pain is making me just want to hold my face.....Im typing one handed....doc said it is acute sinusitis, I dont have a temperature at all, not congested.....just peed off with this head pain....

I'm not a doctor, just a mum, try the hot-water bottle against the head/ear and some lemsip. Hope you get better soon x

Hi Dris....pain is mainly at the back of my head, but also eyes hurt and forehead, the codeine is just upsetting my stomach....not touched the pain...

yes ring nhs. I wouldnt rely on a forum to help me. Have you tried taking anti-histamines?

I think I am just going to take myself off to bed and lay down....I dont suffer with headaches as a rule....so its a rarity..... night all and thank you for your advice x x Hopefully i can drift off.....

I would ring NHS24 -it does sound like the pains I get with sinusitis BUT I know what to expect so dont worry.
Given you are in so much pain then you must phone and get proper advice -they may confirm your GP diagnosis but then again they ask you to try to get to a walk in centre.Worrying will not help either.

jno jnr had that this week, very painfully. He was prescribed Otrivine nasal spray and an antibiotic (in case of infection, which he doesn't think he's got) and told to inhale steam. Worked pretty quickly.

ive been feeling much the same these last couple of days,
like you say - totally fatigued.
and ive had a really heavy headache too, not as bad as yours mind,
plus im getting dizziness when i get up and move about.
are you off your food too?
im hungry but cant really face anything as i feel nauseaus

aww you poor thing.
try resting your head on a soft covered hwb as alba suggests for a bit of comfort,
i hope you manage to get some sleep tonight and i hope you feel a little better tomorrow x

purple....I have just looked up your last post about dizziness.

This new severe feature of 2day history of headache, quite widespread, from the back of the head to the front and affecting the eyes is quite an odd feature and nothing sinister comes to mind.It certainly sounds viral but should have been settled by Ibuprofen.Your post was last night, so this morning the pain should either have gone following a good night´s sleep or still be a problem.

I have posted this before, I get sinus trouble most winters and one of the most helpful things I have found is sterimar nasal spray. It costs about 6 quid and NHS docs can't prescribe it bit it really helps to wash out sinusses. Its is made from filtered sterilised sea water, has no side effects, can be used as often as you want/need is a gentle antiseptic and is also very soothing if the sinus is sore.
Its a bit disgusting to use, you spray it up your nose and the.....debris either runs down your throat or is blown out of the nose, even when the sinus is clear its amazing and a bit horrid what comes out.
I am not affiliated to the makers in any way, don't have shares in the company, I just have found it works

Morning all.once again thanks to squad and all for valued support. Rotten night. I didget some sleep but still the pain perrsists. Stemetil is helping with dizzy and sickly feeling but am off the codene as not much point taking it. I keep holding my head pain is definitely contained to left side of head feels like I have been bashed with a brick. I am not congested or have a cold and no temperature.
