The Ed's been bragging to the DoH about your surgeries on here.
I think its preposterous Sqad and very dangerous. I hope this plan does'nt come to fruition!
My GP surgery have telephone appointments - my GP said that there was no point in me asking for one because I wasn't getting one. He wants to see me in person - to see if I am lying - I *think* he was joking. "Of course I took those nasty tablets doc1"
the difference is that the patient is known to the doctor, the doctor will have access to their medical records and consultations via email may only be occasional. its different to a faceless forum where the contributors are essentially unproven and strangers.
Agree cazzz, which is why I said earlier that I have emailed my GP on several occasions, and had good replies. (Is this a duplicate post? I'm sure I replied to this about 7pm!)
Yes I did --- oh dear sqad, duplicating himself in Shopping? LOL http://www.theanswerb...g/Question981515.html
hard to judge a patients colour online....heartrate fine but is that pulse irregular, weak or too powerful.... and describing pain is another minefield one persons annoying ache is anothrs searing agony..... and is the patient being honest ?

rowan......colour, pulse......is covered under "are you short of breath?"

Pain, I agree is more difficult but...site, stabbbing, nagging, what makes it worse.....gives you a clue.
I think skyping with the doc could work. You could show exactly where the nasty rash was.
i would imagine most of the time they would just be told their symptoms cannot be diagnosed online and to come to the surgery anyway...

there would need to be a triage system where a nurse reads them and sorts them into urgency.

the questionaire would have to be pretty intense and detailed...colour charts, pictures of sores etc...and training would need to be given in the use of the machinery etc

plus people would email with lots of silly petty things that thye wouldnt bother the doctor with or bother to go there...but an email is easy

cant see it saving all that much time...
saying that...id love it...i hate going to the doctors...especially when its something like tonsilitis etc which i know what it is and just need the antibiotics and maybe gargle or something...
Mosaic The NHS going to pay Skype for me?
