A friend is contemplating getting married at Gretna Green this summer. Looking on-line, there are several to choose from...

Has anyone any experience of any of the Gretna Green venues? - Good or bad !!

if she wants to get married there then she needs to book asap as its hard to get fitted in there. I always used to think it was a place you can just turn up to and get married (a bit like vegas) but its not. If anything its harder to get married there because of its fame

Hi we eloped there 20 year ago on valentines day, they were in the process of building a new hotel, we had two friends with us and no-one else knew about it, the parents still haven't forgiven us, we didn't want a fuss. To be honest we got married at 9.00 the first ones and that was it , went to the anvil for photos and then out for lunch, bit of a let down really as not many to share the day with. Picked that date so hubby would remember, he has so far lol.
