varicose veins

Has anybody had there varicose veins done.

I have heard there is a new treatment available on the

NHS which is not so painful as the old way of stripping them..

I work in the Op Theatre and am afraid to say that I haven't yet seen a new technique as opposed to avulsing(stripping) them out.  Some are injected with a sclerosing substance but that is becoming rarer these days.

I'm not saying their isn't but if there is a new technique it has not yet reached/been taught to the vascular surgeons in my hospital who carry out all the varicose vein procedures.
