plus, what a misleading article - it's not serving this food to patients at all!
Hospital food is horrible. When I went in last time I came out weighing almost a stone less after a week. I hadn't even noticed the weight loss until I got dressed to leave and my jeans seemed huge on me. lol
i think it must depend where you live. Last time i was in hospital, the food was lovely, three courses every day

It was Blackpool Victoria hospital bednobs. We were given menus to choose each meal from but the portions were tiny. I didn't like a lot of what they offered so lived on mostly soup with a bread roll, crackers and cheese and fresh orange juice.
My problem headwreck was that I only weighed 7st11lb when I went in, I was 6st13lb when I left and looked like an anorexic.
Would any other ABers like to defend hospital food. In my humble opinion I find it lovely, and have never had any complaints at all. Losing a stone in a week is amazing, daffy, even if you did not plan this. Perhaps hospitals should double up as health farms, and then charge people for this service.
I guess you posted before I added my last post jonny, 6st13lb is not a healthy weight for an adult woman.
in ours (royal berkshire in Reading) you can chose the size of portion (and believe me, large really is large) It wouldn't be the kind of food i would eat at home, but i gave their casseroles and stews a go and they were lovely. Soup as a starter for the main meal, sponge puddings and custard for afters most days, plus snacks like fruit or cheese and crackers or cake to order to eat through the day - it was yum!

the only thing i found a bit strange is that the main hot meal was at lunchtime, which is unusual for me. They also had a ward fridge in which i put some fruit and dairylea so i could have some cheese biscuits and spread on the odd day that i didn't like any of the choices
last hospital food I had was okay, but the miserable sandwich they give you in the evening is horrible.

since when has a fry up been junk food?
I take it all back, daffy. You are right that is not the correct weight for an adult woman, and yes I did post before you. Something is very wrong there, and I did not mean to make light of your situation. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Eddie.....nothing equivocal about those quotes.

I have been in hospital only once so far, thank goodness, the food was awful, I ate nothing!..........just could not!........it was really dreadful!.........
When I was in hospital to watch my missus have my two kids I didn`t even get offered a cup of tea!
CD spent the night in hospital earlier in the week and the food was terrible: evening meal was a dry, tepid pork chop, an undercooked microwave jacket spud and a chunk of undercooked grey cauliflower. Next morning was soggy toast and jam (how they managed to get the toast soggy is a mystery)...
I've got to go into hospital mid April and am dreading it. Our local hospital food is like slop. I'd like to see a fry up.
