Car creaking sound when pulling away?
My car has developed a creaking sound when pulling away in 1st gear. It sometimes does it when changing up the gears but not as loud or for as long as from take off. i am guessing its something to do with vibrations of pulling away. it's been sat for a while until this morning when it was taken to MOT, I noticed the sound, I have checked for anything in the boot which could be knocking and there is nothing in there that could be causing it. I have had a brief look under the car but can't see anything out of the ordinary, its a front wheel drive car. any suggestions appreciated. thanks.

I know nothing about the mechanics of cars but nevertheless I think you have a loose fixing on the exhaust pipe. I say this only because I have a section of the exhaust on my car which has passed its MOT with the part held in place with wire.( A piece of welding rod.) and there is a vibratory sound at 'take-off' which then disappears; often before engaging 2nd gear.
