I had to be on antibiotics recently for an infection in my finger, which made me feel very sick, I had these changed for different pills which again I felt very sick and this time very drowsy too. I got some more of the first lot but only half the original dose, luckily these were ok. I am underweight and my stomach has shrunk as a result. Do you think I am now allergic to Penicillin or just can't take strong antibiotics? never had a problem before

I wouldnt think you were allergic to Penicillin. My daughter is and would become ill very quickly if she was given it .Her body swelled up at the age of 18mths and was covered from head to toe in a bright red rash-she was very ill.

A side effect of some antibiotics are nausea and diarrhoea. You may just be sensitive to them. There are antibiotics though which dont contain penicillin so maybe mention to your GP if you have to take them again.
It is extremely unlikely that from the explanation that you have given, that you are allergic to penicillin.

Your description of nausea and drowsiness is the side effects that one may experience with ANY antibiotics (strong or otherwise)
I'm allergic to Tetracycline and, as others have said, I come out in a rash if I take it. The doctor thought I had German Measles because of the rash. I can take other antibiotics without any problem. If you get another infection it may be worth asking your doctor if there is an alternative to Penicillin.
