Have noticed what looks like a boil (size of a 5p) on the front part of pubic area..i have not squeezed it as it just burst in the shower, lots and lots of pus has come out of it and now it wont stop bleeding, there is a massive deep hole in the middle of it, but is has been constantly bleeding now for a good few hours....my concern is will it heal ok and will it leave a horrible scar ? Unsure if its a hair follicle but never had anything like this before...is it worth seeing my GP ? Not sure what the difference is between a boil or absess...

Could it be due to an inverted hair from shaving, waxing etc?

See your GP if you are concerned is my best advice, prevent infection of the wound.

Hmmm, no hair growing from it, dont wax or shave the 'landing strip' lol...but its horrid, making me feel ill ...i can see right down the hole which must be a good few mm deep i can fit a cotton bud end in it - its hideous!!!

Boil and abscess..... basically the same, although a boil is usually confined to describe a localised skin infection.

It has burst now so nothing more need be done at the moment.
The bleeding will stop.

It will heal, probably not leave a scar, but anyway is in the pubic hair and will not be seen.

Would wait for at least another week and if it is still discharging, then see your GP.

Had you noticed a sore lump there beforehand? Could be an infected cyst or something that's burst. Go to your GP as you might need antibiotics (and we can't guess at what it is anyway). I understood a boil to be a more familiar term for an abscess but I don't really know.

Seriously though, as "yukky" as it is if it doesnt start healing, see a GP. It isnt an area you would want infected :(

purple.......I don´t think that it matters much, except a dressing will keep stain off your knickers or other clothes.

Pink, errrrr..........its making me feel ill too ! Yup its still pouring....it is sore, did notice some irritation a few days ago....yuk yuk yuk....its a very hard lump too....

just keep it clean and follow Squad's advice - and watch the pus levels. If at all concerned that things aren't clean (smell etc), then off to the charlatans you go......,
