Well - they have been here a week now folks... and are little devils!! Little Bailey has an eye infection.... which he had when at the breeders but then seemed to clear up... so the breeder allowed me to collect him after he finished his antibiotics.. then 4 days later it came back... poor thing has a really red sore eye.

Got ointment for it now - and a collar to stop him rubbing it...
Two vet trips in 2 days and £75

Should I approach the breeder do you think? Or just let it go?

The issue apparently was that the original vet used oral antibiotics which never work well on eye infections and should have used an antibiotic ointment...

Aside from the eye problem.. they are both fine and doing well... SUper cute and lots of fun!!

how do I do that again??
Cant remember the name of the site...
If it clears up now I would leave it Nosh. It was the original vet's fault not the breeders. The breeders seemed very good and caring.

Anyway, I am glad they are both doing fine and look forwrd to picturers.

eye infections in both my guniea pigs and rabbits are alwys fixed with external eye drop/ointment, I've had two different types in little tubes one was nice a watery and dropped in the eye well, one came out too thick like the poo from a gold fishes bottom so you couldn't apply just a drop and it let every where, I have also in the past washed the eye out from time during treatment when it looked all mucky I bought human eye wash in bottle form and used a clean open ended feeding syringe.
I use tinypic.com
<<<<The issue apparently was that the original vet used oral antibiotics<<<<

That must surely be hearsay and not fact.

Its so sweet to see their little personalities coming out!
Bailey is the lover.. Baloo is the fighter! My hands are covered in scratch marks!!!!!
They both whimper and cry if they are dozing off and you leave the room... and both rush to greet you and 'kiss' you on the nose with their noses!!!!
They have shredded about 4 loo rolls.. and knocked over one bowl of water so far!

Take a look.... most of these pics are Baloo...

I would think that Nosha got that info from the New Vet. Nosha would have known about the previous antibiotics and what they were. The breeders kept her informedd.
they are gorgeous

Hi Sqad.. venturing into animal care now huh ;-)
Actually TWO of my vets independently said oral medication doesnt work well with eye infections and the best way to get rid of them is eye ointment. They suggested the previous vet MAY have chosen to use oral tablets as he may have thought the inflammation was linked to the vaccination.. and perhaps thought it was linked to that.
They also both said that the antibiotic (began with an N.. cant remember name) was an odd choice for eye related problems

thanks Mcluff

they are rather scrummy arent they!

Both delightful to have around.. though Harvey Pickle Pants is yet to be convinced!!! I keep telling him he is Boss cat.. and needs to realise the benefits of having some 'mates' on his side when out battling against the neighbours cats!

I tell you though - you REALLY do forget how much work they are when that young!!!! Jees....
They are lovely Nosh!!
They are a gorgeous colour and look new and wide eyed and innocent.

Harvey will get used to them - as you say they will make a good little combat team against the bully cats in the neighbourhood.

I am torn between being totally jealous that you have babies and feeling sorry for you that you have two hyper little devil cats. I suppose that they are only babies for such a period of time - they have to fit in a lot of playing and destruction into that time slot.
Nosha..;-)

Neomycin ?
aahhh, my cat is called Bailey too. But he's an evil monster. I still love him though.
Oh, they're too cute for words. You wouldn't think that they're probably planning world domination.
I want one...
