This is about my other thread from last night in b&f. I was browsing amazon and added an item to my basket to make things quicker if I decided to go ahead and order and I was signed into the 1 click order. I did not however click to go ahead with the order or confirm in any way payment or delivery address or anything that normally happens when you do actually order. I found what I wanted elsewhere so turned off computer but later when checking emails they had dipatched order and charged my card. When I've read up about this it seems if you dont remove the item from your basket they can go ahead and place order anyway as its with a 3rd party seller? Do others know this as I am at a loss now of what to do as they all say its too late to do anything. I dont know if its me who was stupid or if they are at fault?

Amazon did this to me once and sent me 3 mobile phones (all the same)that I hadn't ordered(what a surprise), when I told them they just said send them back. Contact your credit card provider and cancel the payment if they vendor won't correct their error.
hi Tig.. I'm afraid that's what one-click is all about. click, and it's ordered.

I guess you could make an excuse to return it, but will probably have to pay the postage costs.
If it's from a company, rather than a private individual It will come under the distance selling regulations, so you have 14days to change your mind. I'd just refuse delivery of it and claim your money back under the DSR.

So can you confirm that just by signing in to the 1 click service with an item in the basket it just gets ordered? What about payment confirmation and delivery address etc?
Chuck shall I quote this stuff to Amazon then? I tried last night but it got me nowhere.
I love one click ordering, however you have to be certain when you click it because like the name you dont have to go through checkout ect, its click and done
I think that's the way it works tigwig.....the clue is in the "one click" bit of the name.
Yes, that is the purpose of one click ordering tigwig. They just use the payment details and address they have on record. You just press once. You only use it if you know your card details and delivery address are correct.
With one-click you actually have an hour to amend or cancel the order.
Yes... that's why it's called "1 click" because you order, pay and confirm with 1click!

You are still covered by the DSR though so you are entitled to return it, whether you will have to pay postage on the return is dependent on the exact terms of the contract between you and the seller.
You still have the right to return Tigwig, but you will have to pay the postage.

Right I've sussed out the 1 click now! I didnt realise just by signing in to it that was it, did expect to confirm after that with the 1 click lol.
I do have to pay postage so may as well put this one down to experience and keep it.
Could be worse.

I hope it's something that you don't mind two of or you can use the second one as a pressie!!

Well it was sodding carpet cleaner, nothing exciting! Only thing is I have bought a 4 litre bottle already and now have a further 2 litres which cost more than the bigger bottle. We have borrowed a Vax carpet cleaner so I guess with all this shampoo the carpets will be spotless:)
Notice tig how kind we are being in not actually answering your question as it is posted....... :-)
My carpets need Shampooing tigwig!! hint hint. Perhaps a bit too far for you to travel though 'o)
