Friend of mine says there's acres of questions to plough through on eharmony, yet really it's just like every other dating site. He reckons The Times and Guardian sites are supposed to have the classiest people, but says a few women he met on those looked up to 20 years older and several stone heavier than their profile photos. He also concludes that dating sites are full of damaged individuals, so he's leaving his love life to destiny now.

apparently there's a free dating site called plentyoffish.com which has a huge amount of subscribers and might be worth a shot
