I suspect Wyman got away with it because Smith denied there was a sexual relationship. It only came out after they were married that they had had sex at 14 and then she refused to cooperate with the police.

Glitter was convicted of possessing child porn and then convicted of engaging in a sexual act with a minor.

Both a pair of perverts imo but I can see why Wyman was largely unscathed.

being attracted to someone underage who appears to be sexually mature may be illegal or morally reprehensible but should not be confused with paedophilia.

That, by definition, refers to people who are attracted to those who are, who appear to be, and who present themselves as children or babies.

I don't think Mandi Smith was in that category at 16 or 13!
