Im a bloke and ive been cheated on. We split briefly but got back together. It didn't work and I couldn't forgive her. Once that trust has been betrayed theres no getting it back, it will always be at the back of your mind. Move on and find someone worthwhile.

Of course. I think we have all been let down, dumped etc at some stage in life. I went out with someone for 7 years. I had a Christmas present I wanted to give him, so I phoned up from work. He said not to come round, so I kind of guessed why. Realised it was over. Cried on the drive back from London to Essex. Met the man who became my husband 3 days later. and yes rat did write me a letter as this was before mobile phones, texts, emails etc. Tore it up in to little pieces.

I was cheated on and left him. He begged and begged for me to have him back. That was a big fat NO.

The initial sickly feeling of hurt lasted about 2 weeks before I started to feel better knowing that I was doing the right thing as the trust was gone.

He's actually married to the woman he cheated with. She's actually really nice! Had I had him back I'd probably ended up hating him. As it is we get on fine (we have a daughter together and he's a brilliant dad)

women do seem to get over broken relationships quicker than men...

Hopkirk the girls he was texting was from tinder. As he admitted when I questioned it. Not too sure if he was saying this to keep me from being more upset since he was trying to make out he didn't know them.

Run away as fast as you can Dreams. He's humiliated you once, don't give him the chance to do it again. You deserve better.

No I didn't go round there Dreams. I was working shifts at the BBC and it was in my supper break that I planned to go to his flat with gift. I told some friends what was happening and they bought me a drink. Being Christmas bar was packed. They were joking with me saying that even if I wanted to go I wouldn't be able to get out of there.
Our relationship had never been that great. He was a lot older than me. My family did not like him at all and neither did any of my friends. I felt really relieved when it was finally over to be honest.
We did meet for a drink about a year later and he was very jealous to find I was pregnant.
Life goes on and you will get over this. Best of luck x

Thanks grass. Actually really helps me to hear others have been in the similar pain and overcome it all and look back to be relieved it over. Never a nice feeling to be replaced with the person they cheat with. Glad your friends got you drinks after. Can't imagine how upset you would have been and I'm happy you moved on and met someone else, his loss.m
