Tiger Woods And The Emperors' New Clothes

I've been watching the pre-tournament coverage of The Masters and I suppose I'm not surprised that the media have totally whitewashed his troublesome past. The only mention of any past problems have been references to his injured back, injured leg. No mention of his infidelity, marriage problems, DUI and drug problems. I don't suppose any of that had anything to do with his fall from grace? But he's certainly brought a lot of interest back to the tournament. However, I don't think he'll win it. My guess is he'll do well to finish in the top 20.

He should be banned from the sport and not allowed to take another swing

If you are refering to TV coverage/commentarty on the event then I would expect only to hear about relevant sporting issues including form and injuries, just as when I'm watching a football match I want to hear about football issues but wouldn't want Martn Tyler to start talking about a player's affair or new house for example

Woods has had several "comebacks" since the big fall from grace which was almost 10 years ago now. The past issues that are relevant to his chances now are the injuries that stymied each comeback.
But, dwelling on the glorious past, it was great at yesterday's par three tournament to see the hole in one from Nicklaus's grandson and 68 year old Tom Watson winning with a six under par 21!

Baz. Ah, I see. Did Clarion know it was t.i.c. I wonder?
Re. holes in 1 and good shots, I'll bore you with a personal note. Two days ago I played 9 holes with a friend, we played, as we usually do just for the holes. At the last hole, a par 3, we were level-pegging two each (with four draws).
My drive was too boisterous and I overshot the green by about 3 yards leaving me about 30 feet from the hole from where I played a superb chip, straight in to the hole, he parred, so I won the hole and the game.
When I suggested we go over to the clubhouse where he could buy me a drink, he suddenly remembered how he hadn't the time as he had to pick up his daughter, hmmm!

What possible connection to his golf playing does any of that have? Who cares what he did or did not do - same with any celebrity if its a singer/entertainer you like them for their music not what they did off stage - take for example Gary Glitter - how many still sing along to 'you wanna be in my gang' when they hear it? Or Michael Jackson? I don't see how anyone's private life should affect their career unless it actually involves what they do for a living.
