Ppi Timescales
2 Answers
I have been using EazyClaim to progress a number of PPI claims for me - this started in May last year. Apart from one small claim with a store card, all the larger ones for mortgage and loans are taking forever. Whilst I appreciate banks have ( I believe)8 weeks to respond, apparently this is only once they have confirmed I definitely did have PPI. Until then they don't seem to have to respond so in some cases Eazyclaim have sent and resent my case to no response. How long can this farce go on for? Surely there has to be some legal limits here too otherwise the banks can just ignore us indefinitely?

If you had done it yourself, by letter, sent Recorded Delivery they do have eight weeks to respond. If they don’t respond within that time you can go to the Financial Ombudsman who will force them to reply.
Never having used a claims company myself, I don’t know if they actually go to the FOS themselves for you.
I would sever my dealings with the claims company and do it yourself. Got to the Money Saving Expert site and use their Resolver app. There are template letters that you can use. It’s easy.
If I can help in any way, let me know. Good luck.
