Keeping My Distance

Apologies to anyone intending to see my contact details and get in touch with me. Apparently by trying to touch hands across the ether I’m breaking some rule, and any attempts at posting are immediately erased, like images in the Russian revolution, and history plods on, unsullied.

Right, a conundrum, then. By what devious means, keeping to the Site Rules, can members link up with one another?

Some do it very successfully by finding a very old thread to post on- that way it doesn't come up on Latest Posts. All the posts can go almost completely under the radar if done in the right subsection.
Or just post new threads saying something like "FAO allen's club" or whatever and ignore anyone who joins in if you don't want to include them- although it's not in the spirit of AB.

Well, I sort of did that, but not successfully.
I have created a throwaway email, and tried posting it twice with /at/ rather than the at sign, but whoever is Chief Mod today has jumped on them and deleted the threads immediately.
The Facebook approach sounds better, although for the life of me I can’t see what difference it makes!

Bad idea Allen there are some weird people on here. I would suggest you accept friend requests, message them with an email address then when they have contacted you though the email address and you know they are ok then delete them as friends. When the friends requests dry up then delete your account.
