Freedom of speech
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to say what you wanted especially about the present so called cartoon protests without causing another protest march. I was under the impresion that the muslim faith was based on a peaceful non violent concept.
I may be wrong but did'nt christianity presede the muslim religion by 200 years, why do the radicals want everyone to follow their faith and resort to violence and bombing and taking innocent hostages to try and get thier own way. Why if they are so fanatical about their faith do they hide their faces at marches and when showing their hostages surely this is cowardly. OH well there was stupid old me thinking that religion was a private choice not to be forced upon people.

As for religion being forced on people. the first was Judaism, which, after establishing their kingdom in Caanon, (remembering that it was God who gave them a country that was already owned be someone), went on a small empire building spree, and converted people by the sword.
Then Christianity came along, and lo and behold, Christians started converting people by the sword.
Muslims, (which I have no love for), are just doing what the others did,.
It really comes down to people wanting what others have got, and exerting what power they have over their own, and others.
I do not have faith in any religion, and cannot see why anybody would.
Believing in a non entity seems as ridiculous as a grown person believing in santa claus or the tooth fairy. Surely all religion is based on lies and propaganda.
For people to demonstrate over a cartoon image is pure madness, especially in the eyes of an atheist llike myself.
However, I am not convinced that the muslim riots are to do with their religion being disrespected, butmore to do with their race and world domination.
This cannot be the way foward, surely??
Dagman, I to have no particular love of faith as I had to go to church every sunday as a youngster, my parents were devout catholics but it didn't do them any good as the both died young.
