How do I move out???
I really need this information.....I am 18... I live in Cheshire but I want
to move out to a Foyer in Wales. Who do I need to contact in order to do
this?? What is the first step I need to take???
Would I be 'allowed' to move to a Foyer in Wales??
Also...would I be 'allowed' to move to another county if I chose?
Also would I have to prove that I was absolutely and totally homeless if I
wanted to move out e.g. there was no way my parents would let me come back??
Please can you provide me with any answers???
Also ...since I don't know stuff like how to cook, use public transport
etc...would I be able to live in a Foyer ok?
Please could you help me ?

In fact, I have to admit that I hadn't even got the slightest idea what you meant by a 'Foyer' when I first read your question. However, I've done a bit of websearching and learnt a bit about the Foyer network from their website, here:
http://www.foyer.net
As I read it, the Foyer network is a fairly loose federation of groups, within which each one can adopt its own practices. (i.e. although one Foyer might not be able to help you, its still possible that another one could).
Also, as I read it, Foyers are primarily set up to help potentially 'vulnerable' young people, with the prime criterion for assessing 'vulnerability' being homelessness.
However, I can't see anything which states that you actually have to be homeless. It's possible for example that 'family breakdown' (which could potentially lead to someone becoming homeless) could also be regarded as a relevant factor.
The only way that you'll get a definitive answer to your questions is to contact each of the Foyers. It seems that there are only three Foyers in Wales. You can find their e-mail addresses here:
http://www.foyer.net/mpn/topic.php?query=&topi c=68
(I suggest that any e-mail you send should include your phone number as the recipient of the e-mail may want to discuss things with you).
Could you cope? Probably the only person who really knows the answer to that question is yourself. My personal feeling, however, is that someone who has the confidence to ask this question and the intelligence to write it in accurate, clear English (as you've done) would probably enjoy facing the new challenges and rise to meet them.
As I've said, I'm not an expert - but I hope that thi

Oops, I've been cut off!
Let's try that last bit again:
As I've said, I'm not an expert - but I hope that this might help.
Even if you don't get a positive response from those Foyers, you shouldn't allow yourself to become too dispirited. There may be other ways for you to move on. Your local library or Citizens' Advice Bureau might be able to direct you towards a local group who can, in turn, try to find ways to help you.
Good luck!
