I fancy my daughter's Teacher!!
13 Answers
Help...... please. I really like my daughter's teacher (he has told the class that he doesn't live with his kids - so obviously not with their mum). But, obviously he could have a new partner.
He's a supply teacher and will leave the school soon, so I'm totally stuck about what to do. I could say something before he goes? Ask another member of staff? Or, just leave it in case I make a total idiot of myself?

Try and avoid talking to the other teachers about your feelings etc dont forget words spread fast around school. At my old school, every pupil knew that a long term roughly 15 years affair was happening between two teachers without their husand and wife knowing.

Thanks bounceagain.... I don't work in the school and it might look a bit odd to suggest me 'tagging along' for drinks?
Parents evening was earlier this week and he said he'd got at interview at another school (about 30 miles away). He was quite chatty (but he might be like that with everyone) but blanked me at a school football match yesterday. I'm going into class next Monday for 'show & tell', so I could ask about the interview I suppose as a start.
Men don't seem that hot on 'taking hints' though....
I'm just really worried about embarrassing him, me or my daughter. I do get on really well with the teacher replacing him; they taught my other daughter. I feel like a silly teenager again!!

wouldnt worry about making an idiot of yourself? if hes leaving anyway whats the problem, if he says no, or looks horrified, you may feel a bit embaressed for a day or so, but .............nothing ventured nothing gained. Couldnt you just pop a short note in an envelope and pop it in your daughters book (if they have one of those parent-teacher contact books) saying 'heres my number if you fancy going for a drink before you leave for your new job' If hes writes back saying 'no sorry cant blah blah blah........ well? so what?
Good Luck, go for it lifes too short x

sleepyj... my eldest daughter did that to me in front of my GP - nightmare! I'd only made a casual comment that he was nice looking.
curlyperm - yes, could do that but worried he might think it's hilarious or a bit 'bunny boiler' and the note'll end up in the staff room or something (my daughter has another 2 years at the school). But... yours is a better suggestion than my friends of hanging around in the carpark after school or finding out if they're all out for drinks - where and then turning up. I don't want him to think I'm a mad stalker!!

well glad you liked the suggestion, if he was the kind to 'pass the note round the staffroom' you would be better off not getting to know him anyway? if he had an ounce of decency he would more likely be flattered rather than think that your a 'bunny boiler' i mean.........your asking him out for a drink - casual? not asking to have his children?
i stand by what i said regarding the note, or maybe just write in the note ' could you give a ring on this number please, have something i would like to discuss' then he will just assume its regarding your daughters schooling, then you can have a pre-prepared question (just in case you bottle it) failing that..........give me the number and i'll blo**y well ask him for you!! lol

Hi Curlyperm.... Sorry, but I'm starting to do my own head in here!!! As I said before, I'm in class on Monday (taking our baby rabbits in for show & tell), so I could see if there's any 'vibes'. My friend suggested I could ask him if he and his partner would like a rabbit and see if he says anything about her not wanting one or that he hasn't got a partner? My work colleague suggested fluttering my eyelashes and asking him if he'd like to stroke my bunny?!?!
Good idea about the note.... I'll see how things go Monday, then a bit nearer the end of term I'll send a note....
Will let you know what happens!!
