why is it hard to meet people that do not do drugs or drink to much

it seems that even just to make friends or to meet someone if you do not do drugs or drink (when i say drink i don't mean the usual one or two drinks after work or at get togethers) i mean people who drink to much and it seems that if you do not do drugs or drink to much then you do not fit in with the normal crowd it seems that everyone (not everyone) i meet has a problem with the law or does drugs.just like the girl i mentioned in my other question shes trouble has different personaliltes and has a rep with the law back in her howntown.

Steer well clear of these people, it will be boring but in a few years time you will be the one that they envy.
I tell you this because I am currently trying to beat a cocaine habit, and the only reason I had the first line was to fit in.
Make the change now before it's too late

Hi ultraman
It is you who is the normal one, all the others are the ones with the problems.
Just carry on as you are and don't get mixed up in drugs or heavy binge drinking.
Give yourself time and you will find a social scene that you enjoy and meet people who have the same things in common as yourself.
Think for some reason you are drawn to this girl but it could only end up in tears. You will find someone who is not carrying that amount of baggage.
Good Luck.

Many people think the only place to meet people is pubs or clubs, but often they are not the best places. Partly, as you say, because many people do drugs or drink too much.
You are much better joining a social club where people have a shared hobby or interest which does not involve getting drunk.
For example, join a local theatre group and help put on plays. You can either be on stage or help behind the scenes.
There are also groups like Spice who organize all sorts of events for young people, see here:

Also the Ramblers have walking groups for different ages, like 20s to 30s, see here
http://www.ramblers.org.uk/info/localgroups/yp .html
Rambling is a great way to meet people as just walking along encourages people to talk, and all of a sudden you find you have met someone you get on with.
Why not go to your local library. They have lists of local clubs and societies and you may find there is a group that may interest you, like Chess, Bridge, Local History, Deep Sea Diving, Archeology, Mountain Climbing, who knows.
