I'm sorry for your loss. Could you kindly tell me the age group this book is for please? I published an article several years ago in the states regarding children and grieving. I recomended two books, which you may find helpful in explaining death to your child.
Waterbugs and Dragonflies
By: Doris Stickney
For age group 4-6
This is a childs book that explains the Christian belief of life after death through a story about the lifecycle of waterbugs and dragonflies. Children enjoy the story, and at the same time can relate it to their experience of death. It will be helpful for them both if they have immediate experience of death. This book is written simply and is excellent for reading to children.
The Day Great-grandma Moved House: A Story Explaining Death and Bereavement to Young Children
By: Joy Smith
For age group 4-teen
This book provides simple philosophies in presenting the news of a death and provides the adult with help in answering the difficult questions of what death means and what is beyond.
I pray this information will help you during these difficult times. If this is outside the age group you're looking for, please let me know and I would be pleased to share others.
