morphine overdose given and hospital is lying now. wot are they covering up?

i went to see the corinor after my farther passed away and he mentioned that my farther was given an morphine overdose by hospital and a counter drug to stop the morfine effect. (my farther had kidney failure, special doses allowed only for patiants with this condition).
the death certificate had no mention of this on it.
my farther had a lot of other medical conditions also.
i compained to hospital and they wrote back to me saying that my dad was given correct dose of morphine and not given no drugs to counter act the over dose.
i never knew anything about the morfine untill the corinor mentioned it to me,along with other things.
i made a voice recording of the meeting with the corinor.
problem is i never asked for consent (permition) to make the recording.
(az it was only made so i cud understand wot he was teling me,just in case i missed out on wot he was saying)
hospital wrote back saying they is nothing in file about overdose or anti drug being given to my dad and the correct dose was given of morfine.
i am confused ?
sum one is lying?
who corinor or hospital?
why would the corinor tell me and then the hospital say they have nothing in there records of this.
they have said they asked the corinor and he does not remember it.
but i have a voice recording of him telling me.
i dont want to mention to them i have a voice recording of our whole meting becouse i never asked permition to record it and i dont want to get in trouble with the law.
but i want ansers
can some one please advise me on my next step i should take.
will the best thing be in mentioning about the recording as this is the only evidance i have.
how much trouble will i be in with the law?

i always thought that a corinor actually made a recording as they were doing the autoposy so that they would have something to refer back to when they write there written report. maybe it would be worth checking this out and if its correct ask the corinor for a copy of the report.I would also go see your solicitor or local citizens advice bureau and see what they have to say about it.

the coroner is not the same person who performs a post mortem.
do you really want to hear all the gory details of your father going through a post mortem? besides, the person doing the PM wont have been able to see a morphine overdose by just looking.
Out of interest, what do you expect the final outcome to be? nothng can turn back time and make your father alive again. if you make a complaint to the hospital, they will only look in the same notes, and be able to tell you the same thing as they have already told you. What ight be easiest is to request to look at your fathers notes yourself

the problem is, for example, if you looked in your fathers notes and there was o mention of any morphne, would that satisfy you? or would you still doubt it and think they were covering up?
As i said, anyone looking at a retrospective complaint can only go by the notes, because they werent there so they wil only be able to tell you what they have already told you.
perhaps you could ring up the coroner to discuss?

if your father recieved a morphine overdose, and then recieved a counter drug, these will show in a toxicology results, you can gain access to your fathers medical records by applying, keep digging for answers, visit a solicitor first hour is free tell him your concerns and take your recording with you, good luck
