Now you've got me going!
I did a survey a couple of years ago and in an eight mile drive to work in the early morning, before lights off time and I saw approx thirty cyclists, 60% of whom had no lights on at all, 10% had just a front light, 10% had just a back light and 20% had both but of these two thirds were these illegal flashing lights, some on the bike some on a rucksack for the rear.
Then our local council spent a fortune installing a cycle lane and this morning during travel to work time, I saw about ten cyclists in about a mile, nine of who were riding at speed on the pavement.
The latest trick is for them to ride the wrong way up the one way street which is our village High Street, swearing at drivers who hoot them. They also swear at our PCSO's if they stop them and give them a ticket.
The sooner we have new law requiring all cyclists to register and carry a registration number on their bikes and take out cyclist insurance the better.
