How are you feeling at the mo, how long has it been so far etc etc
You just need something else initially to take your mind off it. I'm sure if you worked at it you could be over it in a month, or at least not thinking about it constantly! Or on the other hand you could wallow in it forever.
Sorry I'm no help but very vague question!

Its one of those 'how long is a piece of string' type of answers Im afraid, depending on how closer you were, how much time you spent together, how much in love you were ect..
some people get over relationship break ups surprisingly quickly, others do not get over it for years. A good marker is how long it took you to get over any previous relationship.
there is no rule of thumb, but at least you will know that things will get easier in time.

Someone told me once it takes at least half the length of time the relationship lasted for to get over it but as I can't remember who said that I can't back it up with reasoning I'm afraid. However there is a great book called He's Just Not That Into You which is fab for building back up your self belief and learning to deal with things a different way - the title may sound harsh but its actually a pretty useful book (presuming you are female - if not, sorry ignore me!). I think its being made into a film this year too.

You know that cliche phase 'time is a great healer' well I can say is that it works
I am just really getting over a very unhappy relationship which ended for good about 18mths a go although mine lasted a lot lot longer than yours
There are some brill self help books and what helped me was just to do things as a single person and enjoy
I am now in a completely different relationship although in the early stages but I am still carrying on with my life I have built up
I believe everything happens for a reason and it can take a while to get over things but it all makes us stronger in the end x
