eye trouble

for over a year now i have had problems with my right eye, i am woken up every night with a pain just under my brow that feels like an eyelash is in my eye, it is very painful to keep my eye open and is very, very bloodshot. In the day my eyes are fine? I use optrex eye wash every night and durin the night and have had my eyes checked and swabs done. All is fine!!! Im so fed up with being woken by the pain and getting through soo much optrex!!! any ideas what could be causing this????

Could it be an allergy to anything you are around at night?

Have you tried anti-histamines to see if they work?

How long have you had your pillows?. Might be the problem.

maybe it's the Optrex? it always makes my eyes feel really dry after I've used it...

Have you seen an opthalamagist/optician or a doctor? I think that if you are still having problems you ought to see a professional about it - you can't be too careful abut your sight!

A friend of mine is an optician and he always say�s don�t use optrex it�s to astringent go and see your doc, he may just say go to the opticians but at least the doc is free in the first place if you go for an eye test you may have to pay.

If it was an allergy I would have thought that it would have affected both eyes. Could be a form of migraine or migrainous neuralgia. Might be a good idea to see your GP.

If its a deep pain could it be Iritis....a form of arthritis. Or if it feels heavy, makes u feel constantly sleepy then could you have scratched the iris?

See your doctor or hospital, especially if it affects your sleeping

thank you for all replies, have had 2 optician eye tests since the problem, both say eyes ok. pillows are fairly new. have only starting using optrex since the prob to help soothe them!
