How to get over an Ex
23 Answers
I cant get my ex partner out of my head had 31/2 great years with him then we started arguing all the time when I told him I had had enough he went mad hitting me headbutting me holding me at knifepoint this was 4 months ago. He has been to court for this and it is going to trial on Wed he is pleading not guilty so I have to give evidence. I am so stressed out and for the last few days been worrying about what will happen I cant forget about him keeps coming into my mind and I cant forget I sometimes even miss him.

I haven't experienced anything like this myself but watched my mum go thru it with my dad. Her having the courage and strength to leave taught me a lot about self respect. It was very hard or all of us at the time but it was the best descision she ever made, for herself and my brother & me.
In time you will realise how much better off you are without someone like that!
Good luck, stay strong, and like others have said it's not healthy to dwell on the bad times but they happened and you have to remeber that. Don't feel guilty about this he deserves whatever he gets. xx

Sit down and do yourself a plan of what you want for the next 3months.
Focus on positive and make it just for yourself. It only has to be little things and make them easy to achieve. Then you can move on to bigger and better things.
You need a new focus other than looking at the past.
I have been where you are and turned my life around in one year. Just got my nice new car that I saved for as I had to sell my other when I split from my ex.
Believe in yourself you don't need a man like that in your life ever xxx

If the situation was reversed and you were going on trial, do you think he would feel how you do?
I think women are genetically programmed to be forgiving and to feel guilty for what is often not in their control. So you argued and you told him that was it - do you think his reaction was that of a man who loved you? No, it was the reaction of a man who wanted to control you and still is.
