What is going on with Britain
Hi
I could hardly watch the news tonight about the poor wee boy that died in soo much pain
Now I've just read the Scottish news and kids threw a lit firwork into a pram of a sleeping baby when the mother had turned her back to deal with her other child, luckily in this case the mother was quick to act and got all the babies clothes off and the baby was fine
All thats in the news these days is stabbings, attacks, murders.
They should bring back hanging, these folk are getting away with murder. Theres just no punishment these days.
Its like well you've killed someone, off you go to jail get a nice room, computers, gym etc whilst the rest of us work hard and save for months just to get some of the things they get.
Look at the jails you get in places like Thailand, Mexico, etc. Just fling them in and let them fend for themselve and so what if our jails are over crowded, dont waste taxpayers money keeping them in luxuries

totally agree with goodbyegirl. if they cant fix the mess the country is in now then how on earth are they going to fix it by the time our wee ones are older
I remember thinking to myself before I fell pregnant. Would I really want to have kids with the way things are now these days where people are scared to walk down streets incase of being attacked and kids stabbing kids etc
its such a scary place to be living in now

I agree with most of the posters here, and as long as we have to put up with all this human rights crap, things wont change.
I know a Guy who last week refused to do 200 hours community service for continuous driving offensives and was given 4 months in jail, out in 2.
He said it was better because he had 3 meals a day, a TV, gym, library and Internet.

agree with ice.maiden.
theres nothing at school these days either to teach kids right from wrong
things weren't to bad when i was at school but you could see attitude starting to happen and kids answereing back or squaring up to teachers (and those kids i have heard ended up in jail). i'm sure a few whips of the belt would have sorted them out.

I think that, first and forremost, it's the parents who should drill manners and respect into their children, and then schools should continue with it, by means of being far stricter than they have been.
The government could do their bit, by passing laws to fit the crimes, and by basically going back to good old-fashioned methods of teaching. It's a subject which could be debated forever, but also, the pressure to be surrounded with material goods, means that in many cases, both parents are out at work, leaving little time or energy to be bothered with what their children are getting up to in their absence.
