I am with a girl who is 27. i love her and she says she loves me. she has hepetitis b and has a 40%chance dying at some time in her life due to this. She did a pregnancy test few days ago and she is pregnant. there is a 5 % chance she will pass this onto her baby. We have agreed to keep the baby but is this a selfish decision or is it worth the risk. i mean if anything happened to her or the baby had the disease too or both! man the probability is on our side but do you think its not a bad thing to do>?

i personally don't think its a bad thing because if the baby doesn't have hepatitis b (baring in mind thats there's a 95% chance of that) and she does have an abortion, you wouldn't get a healthy baby. A baby is the best thing in the world so I think it's worth the risk. Forget all your worries for now, think about the good things in the future ie your baby, your future with your girlfriend or wife. No way is it a bad thing to to. Life is for sharing.

thanks for that lizzwizz. u r right
I agree with lizwizz. I have a friend with hepatitis b and the best thing and the best HOPE which could have happened to them was their baby; they, especially she has something to live for. Things are going great all round so yes, and as I believe in our creator (this isn't a bible God!) there's a reason your little one is coming into the world.
bear in mind that despite recent medical advances, among the general population, the death rate remains at 100%
Bednobs is correct. It's the ultimate statistic 1 in 1.
its not selfish at all you love each other and you will love the baby if it did inherit this or not but even so there r so many new medication etc that ur girl will probably live alot longer than she expects.
