When I was 18, I was a size 10/12, I then went on the pill (Mircogynon) and then slowly over 6 months I gradually put on weight. About two years ago I came off this pill and instantly started shredding weight and after ballooning to a size 16.

After 6 months or so I met someone else and the doctor put me back on Microgynon. After a year of being on this pill, my weight has ballooned back up to size 16 again.

There is nothing else to explain the weight gain, I am a veggie, had all my vitamins etc..checked, I eat fruit and salad everyday and plenty of veg. I get the average amount of exercise. So the pill is the only thing I can see that has led me to put on weight.

It really gets me down, and no matter what I do the weight wont shift. Can anyone tell me if there is any specific pill that they would recommend?

The weight isnt the only reason I want to come off this pill, it makes me really irritated and argumentative with my boyfriend, and spotty! Any advice on which pill? I know they all work differently with different people.

Sorry about the long message!!!

I'm on Yasmin. Works great for me, no moodiness. However, I am on Weight Watchers but am not blaming the pill for that as have always been big :-) Skin seems ok too.
I used to be on Dianette as I had bad skin and although it was great for that and cleared it up it made me depressed which I only discovered that link after being on for like 4 years!
I personally think the pill is an evil creation. The same thing happened to me when I started taking it in my early 20's. From a size 8-10 my weight fluctuated over the years and I now struggle to keep it off.

I never had any Gynae problems either before going on the pill, my periods from he age of 11 were as regular as clockwork. Soon after starting the pill, my periods became irregular and I was diagnosed with PCOS as well as Fibroids. I also got severe bouts of depression.

I stopped taking the pill at around 30 and would never use it again. No doctor would ever admit my problems stemmed from taking the pill, but I definitely believe they did.
