Does love need time?

Do you think it's possible to know someone for years and always kind of like them, but never actually get together with them and instead have relationships with other people, then end up getting together with the said someone after these relationships?

So yes, it can definately happen. She said herself it had to be the right time.

I'm now with my mate. Known him since I was about 5. Went to the same school and stuff. We weren't best mates but we'd have beers and I'd go round his house sometimes.
When I split with my ex I was spending more and more time in his company. We started becoming like best mates but we were really just falling in love. I have never been so happy :-)

Met my husband in 1969 when we were at uni. We were friends for 2 years used to go to pictures etc and out with the group of friends. Went for a coffee and a drink one day and BOOM. Got married in 1975 after 4 years of living together and are still happy ( well I am , might need to ask him ! ) ( can't believe it's 38 years )
yes it does, a very similar thing happened to me. I met a wonderful guy back in 2006, while working in a restaurant. We had a very close emotional friendship, but he had a girlfriend of three years so nothing was ever persued. I met another guy who I was with for about a year and a half. He was a total waste of space, and the guy I had worked with knew I wasn't happy. And he told me his relationship was over with his girlfriend, and he wanted to be with me and if I'd give it a shot. So we did. And we have never looked back since, he is the best thing to ever happen to me, we are now engaged, and I cannot wait to see what the future brings.
I hope this is the optimistic story you are looking for.

hi, yes it is possible, i'd known a guy since we first went to school together when we were 5, as we grew up we went our own way, but years later he landed up dating a friend of mine and married her. I got married and to cut a long story short i divorced my husband and he divorced my friend, even though she was my friend we kept in touch now and again but not often. I was out one night and this gut and i bumped into eachother, it was only then that we both admitted we'd always liked eachother but never dare say anything to anyone, we've been married for 11yrs now and they said it would never last, follow your heart hun they could be your soulmate
