my sons 18 year old girlfriend is also 18 years old. My family is very confortable financially. The girlfriend acts like her family is. Her family is not poor but, certainlly not very comfortable. She treats my son like he is stupid and has con him into thinking he can't do any better. My son and I are VERY close and she does not like that. Everyting I say she turns around to be bad and when her attention is brought to it she says I did'nt mean for it to sound negative. My son sometimes when he is very nervous stammers his speech she makes fun of him for that and then said she did not that he just misunderstood. What do I do so my son see the light and does not get mad at me.

Nothing. Just wait until he comes to you. If you force you're opinion on him she'll have more ammo to use against you.

His young, hopefully he'll learn.

Butt out, he's 18. It's good to be close, but don't mollycoddle him or he'll never grow to have any strength of his own. Why need to mention that you are very financially comfortable and her family isn't? I don't think any girl will be good enough for your son somehow... Good luck to him.

I was in a similar situation myself many years ago I was the male we have now been married 39 years and they said it wouldnt last let him find his own way and be there for him good luck
