Thoughts on forgiveness
43 Answers
Just wondering your thoughts/views on forgiveness i.e. is it always possible to forgive? Should you always forgive? Are some things just too bad for you to forgive? etc. and anything else you can think of.
Would just like to know what people think on this.

Bloody slow sometimes though!
Anyway, anyone any thoughts?
I'm not religious really but do like a lot of buddhistic (if thats a word) views and I think the Budda thinks you can and should forgive everything.
They believe you should forgive and have compassion for torturers, murderers etc.
Hard to know how you could do that.
Thats an extreme case of forgiveness but what other not so extreme things but still bad things could you or should you or should you not forgive?

Snags lol - that is pretty annoying but definitely forgiveable :-)
Well adultery is a good example
or another example is if you're birth parents leave you and your siblings when you are a baby and you get taken into care (not a personal experience) but know people who have had this experience. Would you want to meet them and could you forgive them - after all that sort of thing can fuk you and you're life up.
People saying they want a baby then when you fall pregnant they don't have the guts to support you and tell you they don't want to know.
These sorts of things or anything else you can think of. Are they forgiveable or would forgiving mean you lose you're self respect?
I believe most things are forgiveable and I am quite a forgiving person but I'm not sure if all things are forgiveable. It depends if its a person you need to forgive too I suppose and whether they are putting some effort in as if you are the one doing all the work and forgiving without even an apology thats not really good.

The reality can be frightening to many people, it is not an uncommon reaction to pregnancy. maybe the idea of having a baby was nice but actually going through with it is a life changing decision, its not the same as deciding to buy a new tv or a pet tarantula. the decision should not be made lightly.
