no bridesmaid or maid of honour, who holds the wedding ring

getting married at the registry office in a couple of weeks, and i havent got any bridesmaids or a maid of honour and its a bit late for us to be asking anyone to be a ring bearer. now, i know ive been a bit disorganised in not thinking about this (never been married before though, thats my excuse!).... but now i need to tell the registrar who will be holding the grooms ring.... and i havent got anyone.... any helpful suggestions? is it acceptable for my dad, who is also my witness, to do this for us?
