Are the free dating sites full of weirdo's ???

Im a member of a couple of 'free' dating sites... Unless its me, they seem to be full of people who are either desperate to have a one night stand or are juct plain kn*bs... Has anyone had any luck at all? Or has my faith been lost...

Be careful when joining dating sites, plain common sense prevails when you are meeting someone for the first time.....There are genuine people out there who are just lonely but are obscured and overshadowed by the "weirdo's" so to speak.

every person i know who has actually met someone from a dating site turns out to meet a weirdo. they are usually married, come with baggage, stalk you or are just plain gitty. meet people face to face - it's the only way you can make a good judgement call about a relationship. oh - and despite all the weirdo's, my friends keep doind it! x

I've met all sorts in the past, but rarely meet anyone now as you have to sort through the ones that definitely aren't for you. I have got more cynical about dating sites but figure that I'm (reasonably) normal, so there must be some normal men out there, too.

Sorry diva if i came across as a little sarcy, just don't want to see a lady fall into the dating site trap. Go out with your friends and don't rush trying to find that special someone, he will appear sometime in your life.

Sounds as if you experience the same as other people, diva - the good ones are hard to find, get and and look, on-line is too iffy.

I did some internet dating some years ago and met quite a few very nice men and went on some lovely dates. There was no romance but still in touch with some of them now.

I think you just need to be very careful and develop a good instinct.

I find paying for a site helps too as you get more serious people.

I never tried a free dating site, but registered with a paying one. Did meet someone who I thought was lovely, but who turned out to be not so lovely :-(

Its put me off online dating now.

Difficult one this, unfortunately there are awfull people everywhere, men and women, it's not just dating sites it's life in general. I wouldn't recommend any of the free dating sites, try one of the popular ones, ask around to see if any of your friends have tried any
