Patch test for eyelash dye
Hi!
I've been into my local salon this morning and had a patch test for having my eyelashes dyed. Now stupidly I forgot it was there and scratched behind my ear so got a bit of dye on my finger which I'm not bothered about (except it won't come off) The problem is I have totally forgotten what she said about the patch test! My beloved cat died last night and my head is a bit all over the place as I have hardly slept and I just can't remember what she said?! I know if it gets inflamed, itchy, really red then I am having an allergic reaction to the dye but does the dye have to remain behind my ear for the full 48hours? If so how will I get the dye off from behind my ear afterwards?? I feel totally stupid for having to ask this but don't really want to ring the salon.

He's at the vets now to be cremated and we are going to scatter his ashes where we have a tree planted in memory of my Dad. The ashes of our old family cat who died a couple of years after my Dad are there too xx
Thanx Tamborine! I appear to have smudged it and was starting to think people will think I don't wash if they are stood behind me and see black behind the ear cos I can't get it off!
Thanx Woofgang, I've had a couple more hours of sleep this afternoon so feel a bit more human now. I was going to cancel the appointment but felt silly ringing her up at such short notice to say couldn't make it as my cat had died, some people understand others don't. xx
It was my first appointment ever to have my eyebrows shaped and I thought I would give it a go having my eyelashes tinted so arranged to do the patch test today whilst there.
Thanx everyone for your answers and kind words about my cat xx

If the area is itchy that is an allergic reacton; you've scratched and may have caused an abrasion. Rinse it off with salt water before the reaction gets worse.
Tinting lashes would incur tint on for 20mins before removal. If your test-patch itchiness showed after the initial 20m you should be fine for the tint.
