Are people stupid or ignorant or both?

I just nipped to the shop on my way home and was just putting the shopping in the boot when a woman came and parked next to me. Despite there being acres of space on her other side, she parked so close to my car I couldn't actually get the door open enough to get in it. I gestured at her (with a smile) to see if she would mind moving up. I tapped on her passenger side window and said, would you mind moving up a foot or so please. She just scowled and then ignored me.
The only way I could get in the car was to climb in through the passenger side and climb over. My first attempt was horribly unsuccessful due to my very long coat, so I had to get out and take my coat off and then try again.
Ignorant stupid cow. Although as I drove off, I did do something less than ladylike.

If my car will phsyically fit in a space then I can park in it. Yesterday, whilst the gas board were drilling yet another hole in the road outside my house, I returned in my car and managed to reverse (at an angle) between 2 cones without touching either and parked my estate car in its usual small parking spot. As I applied the handbrake, one of the workmen jumped from his van and moved each of the cones back a foot. Why?
This happened to me a few days ago. I went back to my car and the car next to me was so close our door mirrors were touching. I had to climb over the gear stick to get into the drivers seat. It took me 5 munutes to get out of the space without causing damage to either car. My language was blue to say the least. Now if I had an old banger.... but I don't. Enough said.
Chuck there aren't any marked spaces - so I parked a sensible distance away from the next car - ie enough to get the doors open, but not too much so as to take up space unnecessarily. I am almost anally retentive when it comes to parking.
I think Cazz and Prudie have hit it on the head. I do see more women who seem to completely lack spacial awareness. Still you would have thought when I asked her nicely she could have reversed out (perhaps that was the problem) and pulled back in.
Some of the comment though are making me howl with laughter. You guys are great!

OK, BM fair enough, they were both stupid and ignorant then :)
The reason I ask is I will often park in a similar manner next to others if they have parked badly in the first place, In fact I'll often pick a space next to somebody that's parked like a total snag just to make it hard for them. (the benefit of owning a 12year old car:))
