Im 12st 7lbs....5ft 3....dress size 14-16 and getting married in 8 weeks (arhhhhh)!! I have had mini MOT which states my body fat is 44%. I have been on lots of diets over the years and I always put weight back on. The guy who done my MOT suggested having around 1600 calories per day. I want to make sensible changes that I can stick to. I intend to drink more water (my hydration levels were low from MOT)....exercise 3-4 times a week....cut back on processed food. I lack time and creativity when it comes to meal ideas. I tend live off tinned soup, spaghetti, beans and sausages, curly wurlys, low fat crisps, fruit, poached eggs and toast(wholemeal) tinned tomatoes and low fat freezer meals oh and the occasional chicken dinner. Please can anyone recommend any meal ideas that are easy and healthy or tips to help me with health and weight loss.

giving up chocolate and processed food will probably be the best thing you can do, cutting down on alcohol is also beneficial, the withdrawal symptoms for chocolate addiction last a few days, eat real food that hasn't been messed with, incorporate some daily movement (walking is excellent) and the weight will fall off.
There is some wise information in this article from todays DM.

Sorry to disagree with boxy, but I would not base meals around pasta-it's an empty carb-that releases insulin-the fat hormone.
*maybe I should have changed my username-as I don't eat pasta any more.

Exercise is good for your heart and lungs, but it makes you fitter not slimmer! By all means exercise, but do it to feel/look better - don't think it'll help you lose weight. Exercise burns relatively few calories and your body is a precise machine - the more calories you burn, the more calories it will want to take in.
You've been given some brilliant advice.....Follow it!!!! For motivation, print this out and stick it on the fridge ;0)

One of my sons buys a pack of four chicken breasts every week. On Sunday evening he makes a casserole using all four breasts, two onions, sweet potato, carrots, frozen peas and any other veg he might happen to have in. He mixes up a packet of chicken casserole mix, pours that on top and cooks it. He then eats one portion of this each evening during the week, adding a portion of those steamed veg you can buy which you bung in the microwave. It may not be everyone's idea of an ideal evening meal but it's certainly a lot healthier than a bought- in freezer meal. He has some kind of fish on a Friday...just because it's easy and quick and always in the freezer..with low fat chunky oven chips and peas. The weekends take care of themselves.
You can vary what you cook on a Sunday but if you always make enough for the week ahead it takes all the stress away during the week and is already portion controlled...well, providing you don't eat the whole lot in one or two sittings :)

go to myfitnesspal.com and enter in a day of your usual food into the food diary ...this will show you total calories, carns, vitamins, proteins etc ..... and you can then go from there ..... easier way to lose weight is to cook yourself and eat sensibly .... soups are cheap and easy. Oxtail, bacon and lentil, pea and ham, leek and potato, carrot and coriander can all be ready in no time. Google recipes if you need to, but really just veg and stock blitzed together!
