My first laser treatment was about ten years ago at a local hospital (paid as private treatment). The smell of burnt hair was nauseating and it hurt a bit ~ they took photographs of the treatment area to help us to see if there was an improvement. There was ~ after about three treatments the improvement was amazing.
I had about half a dozen treatments and then changed to a beauty salon where I had ongoing treatment every couple of months. I was ill last year and stopped going to the salon. The hair started to come back ~ not much but it was there.
I moved to yet another salon and have had two treatments. It is a totally different type of machine. There is a flash, sometimes a bit of pain for a millisecond and a beep. Then she moves on to another area. I think that the system is called Spa Touch.
Stick it out ~ I used to get really upset about this and as I am prone to depression it has blighted my life significantly. It does work.
Let me know how you get on. I am 50 in a matter of weeks so my hormones are probably making my problems worse. Fekkin horomones.

There doesn't seem to be much unbiased information about the various treatments. I am not sure if they are regulated by some body of experts who can say that a particular type of laser is safe and that it does work.
I was going to buy one of the machines but none of them were cheap and I didn't want to spend money on a machine when I could have squandered the money on some other treat for myself.
