I missed weigh in last week just completely forgot with being bank holiday .but it does help to come on every wednesday gain or lose . When I think of it xstitcher and I started this 3 years ago and I lost 2 stone . Not put it back on but struggling with this other stone I want off .i have cut my portions down and also changed to brown whole meal bread as I do like toast in the mornings with a boiled egg but not every morning . I alternate with cereals and as a treat have lean bacon on Sunday .
I just wonder what diet one would follow who is coeliac and cannot take gluten free products because they cause problems with digestive system, has dairy intolerance and various other food intolerances that cause lung congestion et al? Can one get a hand held pistol and one bullet on prescription? (Smile)
Hi Dunnitall, it certainly sounds like a challenge, but although I'm not allergic, i do my best to avoid wheat and I eat no meat so I do understand how difficult a limited diet is.
Start with a fridge full of your favourite vegetables, plenty of soup and salads and some tinned beans and pulses.
Have a look at some new recipes such as these
chickpea curry

Mushroom and lentil bake

And if you eat meat and fish, have it with plenty of veg and and how about a nice baked sweet potato?
Don't miss out on the comfort food either. There's nothing wrong with a nice cottage pie or a traditional and filling stew especially as we approach the autumn.

Hi Dunnitall,
Welcome to our friendly little club. I think Maydup said it so well. We just stick to healthy eating and healthy portions. We try to keep the fat in any foods to 10% and under and watch the carb and calories. Since I found out that I had diabetes 2 last May and began making diabetic foods (which are surprisingly delicious) I have steadily lost weight so it was a blessing in disguise. I now recommend it to all.
Meat is a treat and fish and chicken a stable. You know what you can't eat so the trick is building up around that and finding substitutes when possible. It sounds like hard work but it s only at the beginning while you find your way.

Now I realize who you are Auntie, sorry that it took so long for the penny to drop.
Well good morning all. I'm down 1 pound this week. It would have been less than that had I not found mini pizzas in my supermarket. We decided on a treat yesterday....I know bad timing, but it was our wedding anniversary. They are just 5 " in diameter so with a nice salad really really fit the bill.
