Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

With Christmas and party season on the horizon some of us may want to look our best for that special do. And while you are all doing a fantastic job in the weight department we mustn't forget that self-esteem also comes from within and a dynamite outfit can give a massive confidence boost. The main conclusion seems to be that shaped and tailored fitting clothes will flatter most shapes even if they are slightly fuller. So ladies and gents lets flaunt what we've got and show the world that while we are trying to change our shape we are still amazing!!

You should continue to eat a healthy variety of food types. Simply analyse if you are overindulging in one.

Hi Wendilla, interesting point you make, however 90% of the carbohydrate is Fiber and,( based on a 28 gram serving) of the 9 grams of Fat, 5 grams are Omega-3s.
I find all kinds of seeds near the baking things in the supermarket as people put them in home made bread.
I just read a long and complicated report on pumkin seeds. I didn't understand very much but what I did get out of it was that it is ok for us to eat small amounts every day. As a matter of fact they are classed under the worlds healthiest foods.
Yes these seeds are very healthy for us but in the process of trying to lose weight you must limit them .
Just wanted to let someone know I went to Slimming World tonight for my weigh in after eating their stuff for a week and I've lost 4lbs.
Ft hats a good start lard helmet. Have you thought of instead of lining their pockets of just sticking to a healthy food regime?

No OG. Nothing like that. I could buy their special snack bars if I want to but don't fancy them.
I was thinking the same as OG LH....that you were buying magic potions etc from them...I get it now.

Good Morning All,

Down ½ pound....not much but puts a smile on my face. I've made 3 walks for myself in the morning...short.....medium.....and longer. This way I have a choice even though I usually now choose the longer. I take my ipad with me so I can take pictures of anything unusual or pretty I come across. All this helps to get my feet out of the front door!

Barring some miracle, scales will just come up with some unrecordable lie today because that's what it's done on both the last two days. :-(
